Inspirations from Dystopian/Utopian Movies and Architectural Precedents

Bubble_-_Key_Visual.webp

I was inspired by the scene where the city was engulfed by the bubble, it reminded me of a biodome where the inside and outside is seperated, creating a seperate society within the bubble.
It was interesting to see each character's purpose and reasons for being in this dystopian society instead of leaving the bubble like everyone else to a proper one.
I would like to create a biodome with a strong purpose in Woodlands Historic Park that would not only conserve the aquatic life along Moonee Ponds Creek, but also provide a space for social, recreational and educational activities.

I was inspired by the director's reason for making this film about Climate Change & Heavy Downpour. Director Makoto Shinkai said that the film is not about fighting Climate Change or having to clean up past generation mess, but to urge young people to make a choice by themselves and find something in this weird world that is worth living for. I was also inspired by the theme "Weather", it is out of our reach yet it affects us psychologically like our mood.
This led me in my decision to think of ways that we can adapt to and accept the evolution of our climate. Although, there is always a fear of the unknown, know that you are not alone in this.

Ideation

Reasons for Choosing the Area of the Site to Focus On:

Firstly, the location is near the Woodlands Homestead and the Picnic Area by Somerton Road, both of which serve as important social gathering spots for visitors.
Secondly, it offers trails and scenic areas ideal for hiking and sightseeing.
Thirdly, its proximity to a residential area attracts more visitors and supports community gatherings. Lastly, being at the northernmost point of the site, it is an ideal spot for a water catchment as water flows down from there.
